Privacy Policy

Hashnag is a notification app: creators claim hashtag topics and “ring” them to subscribers. This policy describes what we collect and why.

What we collect

What we don’t do

Where your data lives

Data is stored on Amazon Web Services (US East). Push notifications are delivered via Expo’s push service and Apple/Google’s notification systems, which process your push token for delivery.

Sign-in codes are sent by our verification providers, who receive your phone number in order to deliver the message: Google (Firebase Authentication) for numbers in the United States and Canada, and Twilio for other countries as they open. They process the number to send and verify the code, and for their own fraud prevention.

Deleting your account

Settings → Delete account removes your account and its data (profile, topics, subscriptions, devices, rings’ authorship) immediately and permanently. This also deletes the sign-in record held by our verification provider, and any waitlist entry for your number.
